Crinkly Piece of Aluminum Foil

@*&$(#&(%& So sorry Mia...especially about the rude person on the phone. I used to work for a charity care organization here in CA but mostly dealt with social workers and nurses who knew how the system worked and how to "work it."

We were not "allowed" to work directly with the patients themselves...for this very reason...because you are not just dealing with a piece of paper but somebody's LIVES, families, etc...but sometimes patients would find their way to my extension, and by making that human connection, I would find myself going the extra mile for them. I wasn't allowed to take all of the beautiful thank you letters and cards I would get in return but it will always have a special place in my heart.

My advice is to turn on the charm with that beautiful voice, or even better also with that beautiful smile and go in person, to wherever you can, and ask "Can you help me?"

You never know where the  angel's are hiding...

 Mia,
I am sorry to hear about your hubbys problems with the lawyer , it angers me for a person to say one thing and do another.I had asked my lawyer and he said he did an otr and he had't  heard anything but reading your comments i wonder if he really did and when. I have a date with mine  on the 27th of feb with my hearing on april 5, maybe its possible Mine and your lawyer did ask and it may still come through without the hearing. just a thought.  dunno Just wishing  you and your hubby well in the future and Praying the outcome is favorable for you. Smiley

Emmy I am so sorry for all that you and your family have been through. It is VERY reassuring to know your brother and Mom did great after their replacements, thank you  heartthrob

Marci, This spend down stuff confuses me. They take all your details, income any assets and so on, then work out what spend down you have to have. I am thinking ours was about $5000, will check it. I will also pm you the info I have on it, I know by reading others each state seems to be slightly different. That is a great idea about the lawyer, I will give him one more day to answer then forward all my saved correspondence to him and the message you suggested. Now if the lawyer had just said to wait until hearing, hubby would of done that but it was the lawyer who said he was positive he would win his claim or OTR. I know he is just trying to drag it out. It has been ME who has done 90% of gathering medical evidence and so on, he annoys me. You know by my suggested pm today that I am not that GREAT with words LOL so I will take tips from you and Pati on what to write next. I know DF will be just to the point like me and not as subtle ( jk) LOL  blush 2

Mia so sorry to hear about this. I can't offer any advice but my brother had his aortic valve replaced and did fine, my mother had her's replaced 20 years ago with a mechanical one and has not had a problem with it.
Prayers and well wishes being sent your way.

Sorry I did not get back to you yesterday, I was so exhausted! I had got up at 3am and for the last few days my sleep pattern was/is messed up, I was totally wiped out!
I got up at 2.30am today but I am feeling so much better because the doctor reassured me so much!!! he said yes I do have both mitral and aortic valves leaking but when he went  in their(with ca thetor after the heart attack) they are MILD and he did not see the need to replace or repair at the moment!!! As long as I take the meds, exercise, stick to a good diet, then I should be ok. He said the pains I get are very normal after a heart attack, quite simply the heart muscle is attacked and takes time to heal. As long as they do not get severe again. Depression is also very normal!  I feel so much better today and don't feel like I am about to kick the bucket Smiley I am so grateful for everyone's support, prayers and understanding, thank you  heartthrob

Hubby got some quotes yesterday for medical insurance, they were quite cheap. Starting from $298 for the both of us! with pre existing conditions.  Just waiting on a couple more quotes then I will post the details fur us all, you pay that amount for 6 months, the government helps with the rest, then after 6 months it doubles.

Ed, I hope our lawyer has put in for an OTR and is just being rude by not getting back to us about it. Hubby IS going to call today and we will see what happens, we are not happy with him at the moment:( I truly hope you get an OTR and your lawyer is doing his job Smiley I will let you know what hubby finds out, Good luck and thank you for your support  heartthrob

Thanks again to everyone  circle love
