My vote was not effective and side effects not tolerable. But I should point out that I was prescribed Requip off-label. Requip is generally prescribed to treat the symptoms of Parkinson’s Disease. I was prescribed Requip for Restless Leg Syndrome.

I found it made the RLS even worse. And, even though one of the listed side-effects is fatigue/sleepiness, it affected me the opposite. It was like drinking a full pot of Starbucks Bold just before going to bed. I went several nights without sleep before giving up on the Requip.

My vote was that Requip is effective for my RLS and the side effects are tolerable.

I take 2mg Requip 3xdaily for severe Restless Legs Syndrome.  It took me several years to build up to needing 6mg a day which would indicate that I am either growing tolerant or my RLS is worsening.  I have absorption issues from gastric bypass which would possibly account for such a high dose as well.

My side effects used to include nausea and vomiting at times within the first hour of taking it and excessive yawning for about 30 minutes.  Now I have some yawning and no nausea/vomiting.

Regardless, Requip gave me my sanity back.  My mom also has RLS and she tried 1 Requip and was vomiting all night long.

If it weren't for Requip,  I would have cut my legs off by now  Grin  What are the side effects?  I was on a very low dose of .25 mg at night.  Now I'm on .50 mg at night.

I absolutely LOVE Requip!  crazy
