Hi all,, I have been reading all the threads & I could not my answer.. I read one thread that stated you can check the status of your application on SS's website but I can't for the life of me find any 8 digit conformation number on any of my paper work. I filed on Aug. of 2009  by mail & with a lawyer from the get go. I filled out all the paper work & mailed it in.  I am searching all of the letters that SS sent to me & there is no 8 digit conf. #...    I have a case # but it is 9 digits & the last # isn't able to fit in the conf. box.
This case # is on all my paperwork. Does anyone have any idea how I can find it??? I  want to see where my case is at>

P.S.      I had my ADJ hearing 3 1/2 weeks ago & still waiting for my letter/answer. My hearing went well short, I had a doctor & Vocational Rep. there but judge only asked the doctor  a few ??'s then asked my lawyer if their was anything that he wanted to ask the doctor & lawyer said no. the judge asked my lawyer & I about the onset date & we stated that it was the correct date then said we are done.

My lawyer said we won & I was like what??? He said he's been doing this for 10 yrs & all went as planned. He didn't ask the SS doctor any questions because he agreed with my private doctor's diagnosis's. I felt good for a few days but as time goes by I am having my doubts. I know it takes a month or so but as we ALL KNOW THIS PROCESS WEARS YOU OUT!!!   thanks

cdsn,
My understanding is you only get a confirmation number if you filed online.  If you didn't I do not think you can get online access until you are approved.  I am not positive but I am sure someone else with more info will jump in to confirm or correct.

Toneey,
Welcome to the site.  I have read that if you do have a confirmation number and it doesn't work you should call the 800-772-1213 number and they can help you get on line.
