I wanted to ask if anyone here has been diagnosed with  Charcot Arthropathy?
I received the diagnosis on 12/15/16.  I also found out I had a 2 week old (per X-rays) hair line fracture in my right foot. The same foot as the Charcot's joint.  I was noted to have stage 1.

•Stage 1 (acute, development-fragmentation): marked redness, swelling, warmth; early radiographs show soft tissue swelling, and bony fragmentation and joint dislocation may be noted several weeks after onset

I was put in a removable cast and told that I had to protect my right foot from further damage.  This is a progressive condition that can cause deformity and even more difficulty walking.  Non-Surgical: Non-operative treatment includes a protective splint, walking brace, orthosis or cast. Early weightbearing is allowed in stage 1 by 41 percent of specialists and in stage which my doctor approved.  The healing can take over 8 weeks. The doctors do not want to reach a need for surgery based on my history.  I am suppose to limit weight baring activity and go in every 3 weeks for xray studies.

I have continued reading up on the condition and now realize my scoliosis, kyphosis and contracture's in my hands are all related to the Arthropathy.

I have my hearing coming up and what I have found is Arthropathy is a rare complication of type 1 diabetes.  I am curious if anyone else here has this condition and had their disability approved?
