Hey guys

I received my award letter a few days ago (I know I already announced it, so forgive me for asking) ... the letter stated my attorney was paid. Can anyone give me a ballpark figure as to when backpay usually arrives? They have my bank info for direct deposit. Thanks.

Usually within the next 90 days.  It is possible that you will start getting regular monthly payments before you get backpay.

(We told you this is feels like the longest part of the wait already, right?  Even if other parts are technically more months.)

Thanks Helper. I was going through the messages in the topic and felt like I couldn't find a consistent answer. I'm okay with waiting for the back pay, I need those monthly checks sooner than the back pay. When it comes, it'll come. I've waited this long, LOL.

Tracey...when I was approved in initial app, I got my "welcome to Medicare" letter before I received my approval letter or breakdown of benefits. So,  I had called ssa, they confirmed I was approved, my backpay was deposited a few days later, still before I got my letter soo....anything is possible! :-)

I received my award letter the first week of December and it was dated November 30. I got my backpay on Tuesday (January 17), and it online it said it was sent out on January 13. So it was just about six weeks for me, including a few days off at Christmas, New Year's and MLK Day.

By the way, I still haven't received a letter. I happened to check online on Tuesday (January 17) and it showed status of payment as January 13, and I checked my bank account and just about fainted! I had forgotten I had given them a routing number and my checking account number.
