Called SSA today only to be disappointed.. it's been almost 60 days since approval and they still don't have my back pay calculated. It sucks..We have to take my 3 year old to the eye specialist 3 hours away and he may need surgery and that's a 2 day trip plus driving. I have avoided calling for this reason as it just makes me upset and anxious.. sorry to vent. I just don't really know what to do other than wait and wait and wait. And try not to pull my hair out.

I'm still waiting, too.

It's been over 5 months since my fully favorable decision and I haven't seen any movement whatsoever.

Your fears are totally valid and I share them with you. We've had to move to a new place that is cheaper, but still we don't know if we'll have enough each month to make rent and any other expenses.

I hope that yours come soon. If you had a lawyer have you checked with them to see if they can inquire on the status of your payment processing? If it's been released to payment processing and has a low or high dollar amount coming to you (under $50k is low, over that is high) and if it needs multiple signatures. They can usually find out where in the process it is.

Anyone who is waiting over 60 days and no payment update I urge you to contact your local senator or Congress person. This happened to me I waited over 120 days. After I contacted my state congressman his aid legit called and sorted it out I was over the moon. Everything was settled in less than 30 days after that back paymen's and monthly payments! Good luck to you all.

Burlington NC and GSO ODAR office

« Reply #6 on: March 26, 2017, 10:11:37 PM »

I am in a simaler boat. I was granted a dire need status in 10/16.  My hearing was 2/6/17. My lawyer had a bench decision.  When my senators office contacted ODAR they were told my file was still with the ALJ due to the massive amount of medical evidence to review to put in to the approval decision. This was a ---- mpment.

I did find out if you are 60 days past your hearing your rep can ask for aged case expidition. Then once that motion is requested my rep said things pick up quickly.  My senator has already requested expidited payment on my claim.

I don't know that much about the aged case status, but everything 60 days out is considered aged.
