My decision was mailed on Friday and am still waiting for it to arrive.

I called everyone (800 number, local ODAR, and attorney) but no one could/would tell me anything.

I called the 800 number again today and got someone nice, she told me it was unfavorable and she was sorry. I am not surprised since the judge seemed to have had her mind made up before I spoke. I am relieved to know, but also, so freaking sad. We are already selling our home and moving in with my parents on the other side of the country...knowing that we have nowhere to go, and will struggle with every penny for 2 more years while we wait for a remand hearing is so depressing.

I survived the 80's, drug rehab, twins, and divorce. None of those things were as stressful as the disability process.

Do you have enough work credits to file a new claim while you wait on appeal?  That is always a option in my opinion.  Maybe when you move it will be a better judge.  You lose the backpay but at least you got a better chance.

Mjwhite1 cannot file a new claim while waiting for the appeal to be processed because you cannot start a 2nd claim until you get to the Federal Court level.  Mjwhite1 is waiting on the Appeals Council (when the appeal of this denial is filed).  There is an option to file a new application if the credits have not expired but then she would be unable to file an appeal of this denial.

Thanks. My LDI is 10/31/18. I will file the appeal but have my doubts on getting a new hearing by then. I am waiting to see what the letter says before deciding to appeal or reapply. Probably going to appeal though, since I still don't have a diagnosis that would help (let) them approve me.
