Legally blind.
« on: May 19, 2017, 05:16:44 PM »
Hi again , I had my hearing a month ago for DAC. A few weeks ago I was declared legally blind by my Ophthalmologist. I gave all the records to my atternoy and he gave them to the judge..  My mother was wondering since i'm legally blind would I be entitled to more benefits on my dads record?

How old are you ? There must be evidence your impairments began before age 22 in order for you to be eligible for DAC. In addition to other criteria. The amount of monthly benefits is not based on the type of impairment.

There is specific criteria required to meet SSA's Criteria for blindness.
Nerve damage in upper and lower extremities. Degenerative Disc Disease, RA.
